I am so proud to be the Principal here at Lancaster Academy. I am determined to put Lancaster back at the heart of the community where it should be. The team here works tirelessly and committedly to improve the lives of the students we serve. The challenges are many but the rewards outweigh them. We are passionate about preparing our students for the next stage of their lives and that is why the READY values are part of Lancaster’s DNA; we want students to be truly READY for the future. A school is a community made up of unique individuals. We want each individual to thrive, pulling together in an environment where they feel safe, respect each other and work well together; we are a harmonious community. If students behave well and are taught well, then they make good progress. Lancaster has a big heart and a vibrant character. We are Team Lancaster. At our best, we are the very best. I am grateful to everyone for making a vital contribution to the team spirit and inclusive ethos which makes us uniquely us.

I have worked at Lancaster for over 12 years now and I am very proud of the positive changes we have made during this time. Our academy is going from strength to strength and is getting better and better each year!
I enjoy working alongside you, the learners that make up our student body, and I admire the resilience you show daily in your lives. Despite difficulties,
you have smiles on your faces every morning, try your very best in all of your lessons and consequently make great progress.
My favourite part of my job is still teaching science lessons to you, the learners. Although I’ve been teaching over 25 years, you never fail to impress or amuse me or ask interesting questions that I’ve never been asked before. Keep it up!

I have always wanted to be a teacher. It is an opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of children. Teaching is not just about educating children to create a better future, we also need to make sure they develop emotionally, socially and intellectually. Teaching is definitely a vocation rather than a job. Anyone can teach but to teach well and care for the people you are teaching, you’ve got to be really committed. Lancaster’s diverse community is what makes it unique and a place where we are all encouraged to use our strengths. The best bit is being part of a team from the students to the staff, including parents and it’s great to know we are all working towards the same goal.

Being a part of the Lancaster Academy community, I have seen the considerable progress both staff and students have made in making this school an outstanding place to work. It has been a real privilege being involved on this journey of school improvement. Watching our learners flourish and grow into responsible, conscientious members of society has been particularly gratifying. I always look to embrace the READY values at Lancaster Academy and will continue to strive to make the Lancaster experience a positive one for our students, helping to shape the life chances of all.

We have a diverse range of students at Lancaster and each child is unique and requires a different approach to promote their wellbeing. I am passionate about supporting students in making good choices which lead to their positive wellbeing both emotionally and academically. The most rewarding aspect of my role is working with students both in and beyond the classroom to support them in being happy and achieving their potential.

I am proud to be a teacher and leader at Lancaster Academy; having started working here as an NQT in 2016. I have seen many changes and experienced some of the highs and successes over the last few years that Team Lancaster has achieved collectively. I am passionate about inclusion and delivering a high-quality of education to all and am so grateful for the opportunity to further strengthen the great practice that exists in our school.
I was born and have lived in Leicester for most of my life; much like Leicester, Lancaster is a special place - one that thrives on diversity and mutual respect. Lancaster is a fantastic place for adults to work, for learners to learn and most importantly a safe place for young people to be.
Being part of SLT, I aim to support the incredible team that exists to further stride forward in our quest to improve student outcomes through a broad and rich curriculum that’s underpinned by: the core skills required across disciplines; highly effective implementation of teaching in classrooms; our READY values.
I am Team Lancaster, I am READY for the future.
